How I used AI to build my website and personal brand

As promised, I’m taking you under the bonnet of how I’m using AI, as a non-techie, to set up my AI-native business. First up is how I designed and built my website to not look vibe coded, (default forest green or purple gradient effects), even though it is 100% vibe coded.

I wanted to use my website to build a personal brand and create something that stands out in corporate travel. Purple, navy blue and pink as brand colours are taken 💜 🩷 so I rather than overthink it, I went with my favourite colours, turquoise and coral.

I had a few ideas about what websites I like, and then I discovered most of that was the archetype of vibe coded! So, rather than focus on the important tasks like winning customers and testing products, I went on a 2 month procrastination rabbit hole of designing a website and creating a personal brand.

I started with an image moodboard, then asked AI to interview me to dive deeper into who I am, what I like and what I don’t like. That helped me bring together the visual references I’d collected and work out what kind of vibe I wanted to bring.

Claude created a design.md and sally-voice.md from the deep dive, and once I had these instruction files, I could start on the fun bit and start bringing the instructions to life in the vibe-coding tools. I just uploaded the markdown files, and voila, the website design came to life!

I used Loveable, Claude design, Framer and Google Stitch try designs. Google Stitch is a new tool with a really good free tier, that creates app and web visual designs, then you download and hand off to Claude code, Loveable, Figma or Googles app builder AI studio to create the app/website assets.

What surprised me was how easily the AI tools worked together. I explored visuals in a few tools, then brought together with Claude Code, who built the initial website.

Now my website's live, it's stored in place called in GitHub, which is like Sharepoint for software engineers and techy people.

As my brand design is immortalised as text in a portable markdown file, I can make updates to the website using Codex if I've run out of Claude tokens (which was all the time, before Opus 5.5 came along)

I used Higgsfield AI (not a relative) to create my brand imagery, that rabbit hole deserves its own post so I'll put a pin in that for now.

This exercise made me realise the value of leaning into my quirks, contrarian views and Sally way of doing things. In this new world of abundant, never ending AI generated content, you'll get lost by blending into the background.

According to Codex I now have "a mildly vibe-coded website" registering about 20% on the vibe coded scale. The AI generated images give me away but I like them, and I'm the boss now so they're staying.
